LG Lancet vs Yezz Billy 4.7 Comparison

Recently, I received the LG Lancet to review. It’s LG’s first attempt at a Windows Phone since Windows Phone 7. Well, let’s just say it’s LG’s first attempt at a modern Windows Phone.

So far, I’ve been pretty impressed with the LG Lancet. My first instinct was to compare it to the Microsoft Lumia 735. After all, those are Verizon’s two mid-range Windows Phones. As it turns out, the LG Lancet blows away the Lumia 735 in benchmarks, but not much else. Battery tests weren’t great, nor was the camera, which might not have been fair, considering how stellar the Lumia 735 camera is (first phone to have an f/1.9 aperture. That’s right, Galaxy S6 fans).

LG Lancet vs Microsoft Lumia 735: Verizon’s Two Windows Phones

Currently, Verizon sells two Windows Phones. Well, in the mid-range. They still sell the HTC One M8 for Windows. You can still find a Nokia Lumia Icon in some places, both of which are amazing phones.

But we have two brand new Windows Phones on Verizon now, the Microsoft Lumia 735 and the LG Lancet. The phones are very similar in that they use similar chipsets and have the same RAM and storage. They’re different since the Lumia 735 has a camera with better specs and the Lancet has a 64 bit processor, but we’ll get to that later.

I’m extremely excited about the LG Lancet. It’s LG’s first try at Windows Phone since Windows Phone 7 and so far, I think they’ve done a pretty good job.

Microsoft Lumia 640 XL vs LG G Flex 2 Comparison

By Rich W Woods

NOTE: I wrote this a long time ago when I was reviewing the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. I found it in my drafts and thought I’d publish it.

You may be noticing that I’m comparing the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL to flagship devices. Actually, I started by comparing it to the Nokia Lumia 635, while piling on the Nokia Lumia 1320 and Lumia 830. The purpose of this was to show how superior the Lumia 640 XL is to its predecessors. The camera is, by all rights, a flagship camera. The next comparison was with the iPhone 6 and now, the LG G Flex 2.

The LG G Flex 2 was a camera that I just fell in love with. In fact, the LG G Flex 2 was a phone that I fell in love with. The curved display combined with the laser focused camera made up a stunning device. It’s honestly one of the best devices I’ve ever used.

LG G Flex 2 vs OnePlus One Comparison

By Rich W Woods

So far, I have found the LG G Flex 2 to be an amazing phone. To be completely honest, I found it to be less than exciting when I first heard about it, but when I finally got my hands on it, I realized more and more just how practical and intuitive the curved display is.

Then there’s the OnePlus One. The OnePlus One was one of the hottest phones of 2014, a flagship in its own right, selling for half of the price of its competitors.

Almost a year old, how does the OnePlus One stand up to competing flagships? With the LG G Flex 2, LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S6, and HTC One M9, the OnePlus One is facing down a whole new generation of Android phones. Can it handle the action? Let’s find out.

HTC One M9 vs LG G Flex 2 Comparison

By Rich W Woods

The HTC One M9 and the LG G Flex 2 were the first two phones announced to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. This made both devices very exciting to me.

I’ve had the HTC One M8 since it came out last year. I still have it and love it. It does have its shortcomings, mainly in the camera. The HTC One M9 was a complete overhaul from the HTC One M8. They replaced the 4 MP ultrapixel camera with a 20 MP camera and moved the ultrapixels to the front, which is just brilliant. The battery is bigger and it uses a much more powerful 64 bit processor. Unfortunately, they didn’t physically redesign the body so people think it’s a minor upgrade.

When the LG G Flex 2 was announced, my first impression was “They’re still doing this?” The curved screen always felt like a gimmick to me, until I used it. Now that I’ve had a few days to spend with it, the curved AMOLED is not only beautiful, but the more you use the LG G Flex 2, the more you realize that the device is very practical.

It’s a very exciting time to be interested in smart phones, because we’re seeing great innovation from both companies.

LG G Flex 2 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Comparison

By Rich W Woods

I know that I said that the comparison between the HTC One M9 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was going to be the last before I wrote a review, but we have a last minute contender. On Monday, I received the LG G Flex 2 to review and I just had to get it in there.

After all, the Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G Flex 2, and HTC One M9 all came out around the same time. The LG G Flex 2 was the first device to be announced using the Snapdragon 810 processor, the HTC One M9 being the second. When I was at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, these were the three devices to check out.

LG G3 vs iPhone 6 Camera Comparison

By Rich W Woods

If there is one thing that the iPhone is known for, it’s the camera. People love to take photos with their iPhone and for good reason. Apple has put quite a bit of work into it. LG has also put quite a bit of work into the camera of the G3. The camera on the LG G3 is laser focused, meaning the user could take a sharp picture at night as well as in the fog.

The LG G3 has a higher resolution camera than the iPhone 6, which is not surprising. Apple has used an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.2 MP front camera since the iPhone 4S. Apple is not a specs company. If they have a feature that works well, they aren’t going to jack up the specs just because they can.

OnePlus One vs LG G3 Camera Comparison: It’s About Time

By Rich W Woods

At For the Love of Tech, we do lots of camera comparisons. No matter what phone I happen to be working with in a certain week, I have to compare that phone’s camera to that of the OnePlus One. After all, the OnePlus community is a tightly knit community and I am proud to be a part of it.

Throughout the months, comparing the OnePlus One to the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, iPhone 6, Nokia Lumia 1020, HTC One M8, Moto X, and more, one phone has been notably left out: the LG G3. Since I was able to obtain an LG G3 for my round of camera comparisons with the Sony Xperia Z3, it seems that it’s about time to compare the OnePlus One to the LG G3.

LG G3 vs Sony Xperia Z3 Camera Comparison: The Final Showdown

By Rich W Woods

Over the last week and a half, I have been spending a lot of time with the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. One thing that has blown me away with both of these phones is the amazing 20.7 MP camera. In fact, the Sony Xperia Z3 even outperformed the Nokia Lumia 1020 in low light comparisons.

The scope of this review will be to compare the camera of the Sony Xperia Z3 to the camera of the LG G3. While the camera on the Sony Xperia Z3 is fantastic, the 13 MP camera on the LG G3 is pretty amazing as well with the laser focusing. I’m pretty excited to look at these side by side.
