Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs iPhone 6 Plus Camera Comparison: Clash of the Titans

By Rich W Woods

By no means is the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 going to be the best phone this year and by no means does the iPhone 6 Plus have the best specs this year, but they do have one thing in common: they will both get the most media attention of any phone this year.

If there are two groups of fans that hate each other, it’s Apple fans and Samsung fans. It’s “we did it first” verses “we did it right”. It’s super power verses seamless experience. It is the clash of the titans.

iPhone 6 Plus vs iPhone 6 vs iPhone 5S: Focus Pixels and Frame Rates: How Much did Apple Improve the Camera?

By Rich W Woods

I have been spending a lot of time with the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. It is completely fair to say that this is the biggest advancement in the history of the iPhone. So far, I have compared it to the OnePlus One, HTC One M8, Nokia Lumia 1020, Moto X, and I even compared the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6 Plus to see what optical image stabilization is all about,

The original iPhone and the iPhone 3G used 2 MP cameras. The iPhone 3GS used a 3.15 MP camera and the iPhone 4 used a 5 MP camera. Ever since then, they used an 8 MP camera. With the iPhone 5, they introduced a sapphire lens. With the iPhone 5S, they introduced true tone flash.

Now, we have the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus which use focus pixels. At the end of the day, they still use an 8 MP rear camera and a 1.2 MP front camera. So how much of an improvement is there? Let’s find out.

Moto X vs iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Camera Comparison

By Rich W Woods

The hot new iPhones are here right along with the hot new Android phone. On September 5, Motorola announced the second generation Moto X and on September 9, Apple announced the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

We all know that an iPhone release gets more press than any blockbuster movie does in a year. Because of this, the Moto X may be overlooked, which is a huge mistake by any potential smart phone buyer. The Moto X will be the best Android phone to be released this year.

This will be my fourth camera comparison of the iPhone 6 Plus. I have already compared it to the OnePlus One, HTC One M8, and Nokia Lumia 1020. This will be a big one. After all, the others are flagship competitors, but the iPhone 6 and the Moto X are both hot off the presses.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Nokia Lumia 1020: Camera Comparison

By Rich W Woods

The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus gets more press than any movie does and for good reason. Despite a bad software update to iOS 8.0.1 and the ability for some to bend their iPhone 6 Pluses, they are both fantastic phones. Because of this, I promised to compare the camera of the iPhone 6 Plus to its competitors: the HTC One M8, the OnePlus One, the Nokia Lumia 1020, the Moto X, and the older iPhone 5S. I even did one comparing the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6 Plus to see just what optical image stabilization provides.

Here, we will compare the iPhone 6 Plus and the Nokia Lumia 1020.

What are you really Missing with Optical Image Stabilization on the iPhone 6?

By Rich W Woods

I gave up ten hours of my life sitting in line to buy the iPhone 6 Plus. One thing was clear while I was there: everyone wanted the iPhone 6 Plus and no one wanted the iPhone 6. This may be due to the iPhone 6 Plus being in short supply and the high percentage of people there that were strictly there to buy an iPhone that they could resell.

There is another reason for it though. iPhone users are a special kind of breed. Take a look at Nokia. The highest selling Windows Phone is the Nokia Lumia 520 by far, a low end model that sells for around $50 unlocked.

HTC One M8 vs iPhone 6 Plus: Camera Comparison

By Rich W Woods

The iPhone 6 Plus has a really interesting camera. It uses an 8 MP rear facing camera with optical image stabilization and a 1.2 MP front facing camera. The iPhone 6 uses the same camera but without the optical image stabilization.

You hear phrases thrown around like “megapixels don’t mean anything” or you hear just the opposite. The truth is, there are just as many myths on what makes a good camera as there are on how to preserve the battery in your phone.

When I wrote the camera review of the iPhone 6 Plus, I promised to compare it to the OnePlus One, HTC One M8, Nokia Lumia 1020, Moto X, iPhone 5S, and iPhone 6. So far, I have only compared the iPhone 6 Plus to the OnePlus One. The OnePlus One has a higher resolution camera than the iPhone 6 Plus has, so this will be the opposite end of the spectrum.

Welcome to the camera comparison of the iPhone 6 Plus and the HTC One M8.

iPhone 6 Plus: Camera Review

By Rich W Woods

The iPhone 6 Plus uses an 8 MP camera. While Apple has certainly improved the camera, it has the same resolution that they have used in cameras since the iPhone 4S.

This is going to be a very long series of reviews. After all, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are going to be the best selling phones in the world this year. While this is going to be a look at the camera of the iPhone 6 Plus, I also intend to see how it stands up to competing smart phones including the HTC One M8, OnePlus One, Moto X, and Nokia Lumia 1020. We will also take a look at just how much the camera has improved since the iPhone 5S as well as seeing the importance of optical image stabilization that is in the iPhone 6 Plus, but not in the iPhone 6.

Let’s look at some samples:
