Here’s What’s Fixed and What’s Still Broken in Windows 10 Mobile 10572

Today, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 10572. There’s quite a bit that’s new, despite being released less than a week after the last build that was released, Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10549. We knew it was coming. After all, last week’s build 10549 was the first Windows 10 Insider Preview build that didn’t bring the build number on par with its counterpart. Nevertheless, we knew the build was coming. Note that like…

Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Mobile Build 10572

Less than a week after releasing Windows 10 Mobile build 10549, Microsoft has released Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10572. This was expected, as previous to build 10549, Microsoft had released Windows 10 for PCs Insider Preview build 10565. This was the first Insider Preview for mobile or PC that didn’t bring the build number on par with its counter-part. In short, we knew there was another build coming soon. Note that like Windows…

Windows 10 Mobile Build 10549: The Camera

Earlier this week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile Build 10549. There were a few new features, but there were a couple important ones that weren’t really listed. Along with the fact that Windows 10 Mobile no longer displaces all of your tiles upon installation, there’s also a number of camera issues going on, which include Lumia Camera, Lumia Camera 5, and Windows Camera. Check it out.

Windows 10 Mobile Build 10549 Walk Through

Windows 10 Mobile Build 10549 Walk Through

Yesterday, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10549. As always, I made a video walking through all of the new features, and while there’s not a lot, there’s some really important stuff. Also, I have to apologize for not publishing this earlier. This build requires rolling back to Windows Phone 8.1 and then upgrading from there, so imagine doing that with five Lumias. Note that this is the first in five installments. This…

Microsoft Fixes Lumia Camera on Windows 10 Mobile for Lumia 1020

Microsoft Fixes Lumia Camera on Windows 10 Mobile for Lumia 1020

Ever since some of the earlier Windows 10 builds, there’s been an elephant in the room. Lumia Camera is gone. If you’re using a Lumia 930, Icon, 1520, 640, 640 XL, or 830 (anything with Lumia Camera 5), Lumia Camera sticks around for you. For every other phone, you’re expected to sweeten up to the Windows Camera app. This is a big problem with users of the Nokia Lumia 1020, which uses oversampling technology. It…

What’s Fixed and Broken in Windows 10 Mobile Build 10549

Today, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 10549. Interestingly enough, it’s the first build that I recall that doesn’t bring the build number on par with Windows 10 for PCs, which is currently 10565. Note that you can’t upgrade from Windows 10 Mobile build 10536. You actually need to roll back to Windows Phone 8.1 and upgrade from there. Here’s what they fixed and what are still known issues.

Extras and Info Gets an Update for Lumia Windows 10

Lumia Amber, Lumia Black (bittersweet shimmer), Lumia Cyan (blue), and Lumia Denim. My buddy at the Microsoft Store once told me that he thinks that the next version will be Lumia Eggshell. It’s not. As it now appears, the next version will be Lumia Windows 10. This makes sense as Microsoft seems to be ditching version numbers in favor of ongoing updates to Windows 10. I really can’t imagine this lasting forever. At some point,…

Hands On with Windows 10 Mobile Build 10536

Hands On with Windows 10 Mobile Build 10536

Earlier this week, Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 10536. As always, I made a video showing off all of the new features in the build. It appears that Microsoft is getting closer and closer to RTM, although it really doesn’t appear that Windows 10 Mobile will be ready in time for the October 6 hardware event. I’m not even sure it will be ready int time for the release of the devices in November.
