Apple Releases iOS 9.1, OS X 10.11.1 to the Public, tvOS GM

Today, Apple finally released iOS 9.1 to the public, along with Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan. The new updates generally bring support for Unicode 8, which is a whole bunch of new emoji, mainly the middle finger emoji that we’re all looking forward to. Personally, I find the public release to be a bit of a surprise this early, mainly because the iOS 9.1 release should coincide with the release of the iPad Pro,…

Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta 4

Just one week after releasing beta 3 and two weeks after the public release of Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan, Apple released Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan beta 4 yesterday. Also this week, Apple released iOS 9.1 beta 5, which was also less than a week after the former beta. Apple certainly seems to be pumping out the betas, along with the tvOS betas. There is no watchOS 2.1 beta, which I find…

Apple Announces a New 4K 21″ iMac

Apple Announces a New 4K 21″ iMac

This announcement really shouldn’t come as a surprise. Last year, Apple launched a 5K 27″ iMac with Retina display. After that, the 21″ iMac was the last Apple product on the market to not be available with a Retina display. Oh wait, MacBook Air… Retina is defined as the pixel density where a user can’t tell the difference between that and anything more when viewing the device from an average viewing distance. That pixel density…

Apple Seeds Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta 2

Today, Apple released Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta 2 to developers. If they haven’t already, they will release it to public beta testers as well. Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan seems to be similar to the iOS 9.1 beta, which is to say that its primary focus is to bring new emoji. Note that this is the second updated this year from Apple that’s entirely dedicated to emoji (iOS 8.3).

Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta

Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta

I was surprised this long. Last Wednesday, Apple introduced the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPad Pro, and fourth generation Apple TV. After that, they released the Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan GM seed, watchOS 2 GM seed, iOS 9 GM seed, and iOS 9.1 Beta. I had a feeling that Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan Beta would be coming soon, as Apple seems to be on a rapid release cycle over the…

Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta 7

Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta 7

Yesterday, Apple seeded Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta 7 to developers. This means that they also seeded Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Public Beta 5 to the public beta program. There was no iOS 9, WatchOS 2, or Xcode 7 betas released since, which is apparently normal these days. Apparently, the big change in this particular build is that Apple turned off Dashboard by default, and bug fixes, of course.
