Apple Releases iOS 9.2 Beta

Apple Releases iOS 9.2 Beta

When Apple released iOS 9.1 to the public last week, we found out that Apple was internally testing on iOS 9.2. In fact, two days later, it was the longest developers have went without an iOS beta since before the iOS 8 beta after WWDC 2014. Today, Apple finally released that iOS 9.2 Beta. If you’re on the public beta program, you should be able to get it as an OTA. If you’re a developer and…

iPhone 6S vs LG G4 Comparison

iPhone 6S vs LG G4 Comparison

One thing that I’ve learned from my years of reviewing iPhones is that people always want to know how other phones measure up to the iPhone. Everyone shows up to hate or to love, but they always show up. There’s a fact that people need to address. People care about the iPhone. Whether you hate it or you love it, you care about it. I want people to address that fact because I want to…

Apple Releases iOS 9.1, OS X 10.11.1 to the Public, tvOS GM

Apple Releases iOS 9.1, OS X 10.11.1 to the Public, tvOS GM

Today, Apple finally released iOS 9.1 to the public, along with Mac OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan. The new updates generally bring support for Unicode 8, which is a whole bunch of new emoji, mainly the middle finger emoji that we’re all looking forward to. Personally, I find the public release to be a bit of a surprise this early, mainly because the iOS 9.1 release should coincide with the release of the iPad Pro,…

Apple Can’t Unlock Your iPhone

Apple Can’t Unlock Your iPhone

Apple has told a U.S. court that it does not have the technical ability to unlock an iPhone that’s running iOS 8 or higher. Also, according to Reuters, over 90% of iPhones are running this software. Of course, the iPhone in question was one of the 10% that Apple could unlock, but they didn’t want to unlock it anyway because “could threaten the trust between Apple and its customers and substantially tarnish the Apple brand.”

iPhone 6S Review: A Great Phone that Just Didn’t Deliver

iPhone 6S Review: A Great Phone that Just Didn’t Deliver

NOTE that before you decide if this is either a positive or negative review of the iPhone 6S, please read the whole thing. I wasn’t going to write this review for another week. I still have a few more comparisons that I want to publish, two of which are already written (and may or may not be published already by the time this is). I’m writing this review now because I won’t be spending anymore…

iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6S Comparison: Worth the Upgrade?

iPhone 6 vs iPhone 6S Comparison: Worth the Upgrade?

Normally, I don’t compare two phones unless I have both of them in front of me. That’s not the case today. In fact, I sold me iPhone 6 on September 8 in preparation for the iPhone 6S. I did spend 11 days short of a year with the iPhone 6, so I think I can speak with authority on it. The only thing I can’t do that I usually do is take photos at the…

iOS 9.1 Beta 5 Walk Through

iOS 9.1 Beta 5 Walk Through

Yesterday, Apple released the fifth iteration of the minor update, iOS 9.1. They seem to be on a different schedule now between their four different OSes, being iOS, Mac OS, watchOS, and tvOS. Just think, only a year ago there were only two. I’ll tell you right now that there’s nothing noticeably new in iOS 9.1 Beta 5. It’s really all about bug fixes; however, I would note that the OTA update was 1.4 GB,…

iPhone 6S vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Comparison: The Smackdown

iPhone 6S vs Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Comparison: The Smackdown

I’ve gone on record saying that the iPhone 6S and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and their respective sister phones (iPhone 6S Plus, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+) are the best phones on the market. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that they’re the only phones on the market worth investing two years into. Everything else that’s on the market is using the latest Qualcomm processors, which, to be…

Apple Releases iOS 9.1 Beta 5

Apple Releases iOS 9.1 Beta 5

Today, Apple released iOS 9.1 Beta 5. The iOS 9.1 beta cycle is really a strange one. There’s not a lot new in iOS 9.1 except for new emoji. Even the first beta seemed super stable. The fact that there’s even five iterations of a minor update is beyond me. In fact, we got iOS 9.1 Beta 4 last week. Apple also seems to be on completely different beta cycles for Mac OS X 10.11.1…
