Today, Microsoft released the seventh iteration of the RTM build of Windows 10 Mobile. This time, it’s Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10586.107.
As always, there are no new features. This is about trying to get Windows 10 Mobile right. They’re not even calling them builds anymore. They’re calling them cumulative updates.
Here’s what Microsoft said they fixed in this build:
- Fixed an issue where in some cases a device could be missing tiles on the Start screen after going through the device out of box experience.
- Improved support in Narrator to speak in multiple languages.
- Improvements to the device reset experience when BitLocker\Device Encryption is enabled by enterprise policy or by the user.
Microsoft also opened up a new ring in the Insider Program called Release Preview. This new ring will be more similar to Preview for Developers, where you’re only getting early updates and not beta software.
This was something we talked about when we realized that Windows 10 Mobile will not be bundled with device specific firmware. What this means is that the software you find through the Release Preview ring is the SAME update you would receive through the “official” update.
