If there has been one advantage to buying a Windows Phone throughout the history of the platform, it’s the camera. Windows Phones have always been on the cutting edge of camera technology, but it’s changed quite a bit.
In the following video, I look at how both hardware and software has evolved in the past five years of the platform’s existance, from Windows Phone 7 to Windows 10 Mobile, from the Nokia Pureview 808 to the Nokia Lumia 1020 to the Microsoft Lumia 950, from Nokia Camera to Lumia Camera to Windows Camera.
I talk about the history of Pureview as well as what Pureview actually means. After all, we’ve seen 41 MP Pureview cameras and we’ve seen 8 MP Pureview cameras. What does it all mean?
I also talk about the end of support for the Nokia Lumia 1020’s camera and how there are no plans for a successor to the device.
I start with the Nokia Lumia 900 and finish with the Microsoft Lumia 950. It’s a long video, but I recommend sticking with it.
