Apple Seeds watchOS 2.2 Beta 2 to Developers

Exactly two weeks ago, Apple launched a huge beta cycle. iOS 9.3 will have a plethora of new features, tvOS will have the ability to pair a Bluetooth keyboard, and watchOS 2.2 will be all about the ability to pair multiple watches with one iPhone.

But wait, there’s more! The original watchOS 2.2 beta was all about the ability to pair multiple Apple Watches, but watchOS 2.2 beta 2 adds something more: a new Maps app.

Previously, the Maps app would open to the current location. It was actually pretty terrible, as it took forever to find your location and load a map. Starting with watchOS 2.2, users will now see the nearby feature that was introduced in iOS 9.

Here are the release notes:

watchOS SDK 2.2 provides support for developing watchOS apps. It is packaged with a complete set of Xcode tools, compilers, and frameworks for creating apps for watchOS. These tools include the Xcode IDE and the Instruments analysis tool, among many others.

This version of watchOS is intended for installation only on devices registered with the Apple Developer Program. Attempting to install this version of watchOS in an unauthorized manner could put your device in an unusable state.
