It’s about time for me to return my LG V10 review unit to LG, so before I do, I really wanted to compare the camera to the Microsoft Lumia 950’s camera.
I’ve been pretty vocal about the cameras of the LG G4 and the LG V10, which use the same sensor. I find that both cameras don’t do a good job in automatic mode. They’re great if you know how to use manual controls, but for most use cases, they just don’t do the job.
I’ve found that the Microsoft Lumia 950 is one of very few smart phone cameras on the market that does a great job in both automatic and manual settings.
Let’s look at the samples.

Like I said earlier, I really don’t care for the LG V10’s camera in automatic settings. I really think that the camera of the LG G3 and the LG G Flex 2 was much better in this aspect.
Then there’s the front camera. Both phones have a 5 MP front sensor, although the LG V10 has two of them, one for 80° shots and one for 120° shots. The LG V10 also lights of the screen as a flash, a feature that Microsoft hasn’t yet picked up on.

I had two choices for making this gallery. I could either do it the way I’m going to or make a table with five columns, since the LG V10 has so many more options for the front camera than the Microsoft Lumia 950 has.
