Get a Free Year of Office 365 with your Lumia 950 or 950 XL

You should download the Lumia Offers app. It will get you a free year of Office 365 Personal.

Of course, if you went with the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, you probably have the Lumia Offers app preinstalled, as that’s what you had to use to grab your free Display Dock. It’s also what you have to use to grab a free year of Office 365.

Don’t worry of Lumia Offers didn’t come preinstalled on your Lumia 950. You can grab it from the Store.

There is a bit of bad news, of course. This offer doesn’t apply if you’re already an Office 365 Home subscriber. Typically, when a year of Office 365 Personal is offered, the user has the option to add nine months of Office 365 Home to their account.

Lumia Offers

There’s nothing else you have to do. The offer is made by Unlocked Mobiles, but you need not have purchased your device from them to be eligible. You do need to cash in on the offer before July 31, 2016 and you need to have purchased the device before June 30, 2016.

Note that while people were complaining about the $649 price tag of the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, it now comes with a free Display Dock and a free year of Office 365 Personal, a total $169.98 value.

As most are aware by now, Office on Continuum requires an Office 365 subscription to create or edit documents. It’s free on all devices under 10″, so you can still use Office on the phone without the paid subscription; however, with this new promotion, you’ll have everything you need to be super productive with the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Microsoft Lumia 950 XL.

Note that I was unable to even try to cash in on the offer, as I was told that I am on the “wrong operating system”. I’m guessing that’s because my Lumia 950 is currently running Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10586.63. I’m going to roll it back and see what happens.
