One of the most requested videos to make as of late was a tutorial on how to install Android apps on Windows 10 Mobile. The process is fairly simple, so I made a tutorial video on it.
Currently, Android apps on Windows 10 Mobile, known as Project Astoria, is only available on the following devices:
- Nokia Lumia 435
- Nokia Lumia 635 (1 GB RAM variant)
- Nokia Lumia 730
- Nokia Lumia 820
- Nokia Lumia 830
- Nokia Lumia 920
- Nokia Lumia 925
- Nokia Lumia 928
- Nokia Lumia 929 (Icon)
- Nokia Lumia 930
- Nokia Lumia 1520
I really have no idea how they came up with this list of devices. Sure, the flagship combo is there, which is the Snapdragon 800 with 2 GB RAM hardware configuration. It looks like 1 GB of RAM is a requirement, which is understandable, considering that it works with an emulator.
But why does the Lumia 730 work and not the Lumia 735? If the Snapdragon 400 and 1 GB of RAM combo works, why not the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL? I’ve reached out to Microsoft about this.
